Gaming on Network TV
No, we’re not talking about the World Series Poker championship. That’s another type of gaming. The New York Times has this article about CBS covering the World Series of Video Games at the end of December. Proponents of this move wants audiences to see video games as sports. Hey, if they can consider poker a sport, I don’t see why video games can’t be a sport.
Ironically, Geoff Keighly, a host on Spike TV states, “People want to play games and not watch them.” Funny how he says that while being a host of a video game show as well as working for a network with a yearly video game award show. Sour grapes anyone?
